At the influential Northwest Chocolate Festival 2017 in Seattle, an event that defines the yearly trends in the chocolate sector, our Labooko "Vintage 2016“ beat just under 200 entrants to win the bronze medal in the category dark chocolates.
Barbara Dolleschal, Chief Executive of Zotter Chocolates US, was extremely happy to receive this award, which also earned this young Florida enterprise quite a bit of attention at the event.
Julia Zotter was present at the Seattle festival to support the US team, and she accepted the award alongside Barbara Dolleschal. For Julia, winning an award with this particular chocolate is doubly special, as it is the very anniversary creation she produced together with her father Josef. The two of them created a cocoa cuvée made from 5 different cocoa varieties from four cocoa producing regions as well as trialling a new roasting process, the SNR fine mist method, which considerably enhances the cocoa’s flavour profile.
The Labooko „Vintage 2016“ has even attracted the attentions of the Chocolate Hunter, who has given it high marks in his chocolate ranking: you can read up on the entire report here (in German)
