Did you know that St Francis of Assisi, who lived in complete poverty in order to follow Christ, had a particular fondness for a certain sweet treat, despite all his asceticism? After discovering a delicious pastry made from almonds, honey and other ingredients at the home of the noble widow Jakoba von Settesogli in Rome, he craved it time and again – even on his deathbed. And indeed, Brother Jakoba arrived just in time with the longed-for treat. In memory of the beloved saint and the 800th anniversary of his death († 3 October 1226), Josef Zotter has created this exclusive Francis Jubilee Chocolate. (And we are sure that Francis would have enjoyed it just as much!)
