Our transparent meat workshop in the centre of the Edible Zoo!
Find out more about the production and processing of meat and sausages at ÖKO Speck Takel. The transparent way from pasture to organic delicacy: watch our butchers at work through the glass wall or on screens and take a look inside our ageing rooms and the "high tech" smoke chamber. The centrepiece of our meat workshop is the so-called "slicing room".
In the area of the former restaurant you will also find our ‘regulars’ table' with lots of high-quality reading material and information about our meat and sausage products.
In the entrance area to ÖKO Speck Takel you will be greeted by works of art by Paul Mühlbauer. We have also set up a self-service automatic café (card payment only): Beer, lemonades, spritzers and coffee from our own roastery!
Our picnic garden with lime tree shade right next to the ‘ÖKO Speck Takel’ building also invites you to enjoy a break: sandwiches, tramezzini, sausage rolls, cold cuts, organic pastries and much more are available in the delicatessen next to the organic coffee shop in the choco shop.
Farm-to-table delicacies can also be ordered in the online shop.

P.S. Our animals not only live in the Edible Zoo (27 ha) of the Zotter Experience World, but also on neighbouring satellite farmland (69 ha), where they also have the opportunity to retreat to the open stable buildings. The last pictures show, for example, our modern stables for cattle and pigs, whose roof area has been equipped with a photovoltaic system that not only covers the energy requirements of the building itself, but also feeds the surplus electricity into the specially founded Zotter Energy community. All PV systems are grouped together in this community and generate a peak output of around 1000 kWp.
